Monitoring Children’s Progress
From very first enquiry we begin to find out about both yours and your child’s needs:-
Why are you looking for childcare? How can we help you and your child? Are you returning to work? Do you want your child to socialise with other children?
This will help us to build up a picture of how we might best support the family; from affordability to flexibility as well as re-assurance and confidence that by placing your child in our care you are doing the best thing you can possible do, given your circumstances, for you and your child.
As well as meeting one of the management team you will be allocated a Key Person who is interested to find out about your child and the family whilst nurturing a strong and friendly relationship.
Using the on-line tool, Tapestry, Key Persons will regularly share with you their recordings of the time your child spends at the setting, both at play and learning; celebrating their achievements and encouraging their progress.
Regular summaries shared through parental access to their child’s on-line Tapestry account support working with parents and daily conversations ensure partnership working provides the very best experiences for your child to develop a love of learning and participation. Along with warm nurturing relationships we aim to build solid foundations in readiness for more formal schooling.
Supported transitions; both in settling when joining the nursery and pre-school and, where relevant, moving rooms set the pace for the ‘big’ transition to school.
By providing schools with only relevant and personal information about how your child learns, where they are in their learning and what support they might need we can ensure a sympathetic, sensitive and professional transition tailored to the individual child. Thus easing parental and child worries and ensuring positive outcomes whilst also supporting reception class teachers in getting to know your child.
