What to expect, when?

EYFS

Many of our families have been speaking to us lately about the abilities of the children who attend here at K2 Crawley Nursery and Pre-School.  There has also been lots a questions around what exactly we, as early years practitioners, educators and teachers, are looking for when we make termly assessments of the children in relation to the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).

Back in April 2015, the charity 4Children worked in conjunction with the Department for Education to formulate the What to expect , when? booklet. The purpose of this booklet is to help you as a parent/carer find out more about how your child is learning and developing during their first five years, in relation to the EYFS. Children develop more rapidly during the first five years of their lives than at any other time. This booklet has been written to help you as a parent know what to expect during these vitally important years by focusing on the seven areas of learning and development which are covered in the EYFS
